Yeah, I'm disappointed that ID4 2 didn't break any record like its predecessors, but I'm hoping it will make as much money for the sequels. I'm glad you enjoy it. It's Roland Emmerich, and they're not meant to be Shakespeare. If you like it, it's all it matters.

it was fun but it felt like it wanted to be two movies. Then follow up with a kicking butt movie. Don't want to give too much away since I can't use spoilers on the app.
If there is a sins it's they tried to do too much. IMO they probably wanted a second movie as part of this movie story arc, but Hollywood has been sitting on his sequels for a long time so IMO he crammed as much as he could in.

Really needs a extended release bluray

Independence Day 2 down 67% in China (http://www.boxofficemojo.com/intl/china ... =27&p=.htm). Sorry FBF, but BJ was right. It's a bust.

Roland Emmerich's styles are becoming a little out of date.

Not to mention Star Trek Beyond, which hopefully will be better than the last effort.

Someone needs to pick up that coveted licence to kill – and bookies think James Norton could be up for the job.

The 30-year-old actor – who set pulses racing after that topless scene in Granchester – is the new favourite to replace Daniel Craig, even beating Poldark's Aidan Turner and one-half-of-Swiddleston, Tom Hiddleston.

"48 hrs ago James Norton was not even in the betting for who will become the next Bond, he has been backed from 66/1 and is now the current 1/3 favourite. We would be astonished if he is not on the short list," said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams. Image

Let's not get too crazy on that. Ice Age 5 will release on that day.

I don't expect Fantastic Beast to beat Deathly Hallows 2, but it would be interesting if it reaches $1 billion. The same can be said with Rogue War.

Anything Harry Potter will be good, and even so, I hope the upcoming the film will dodge the The Phantom Menace syndrome. Fantastic Beast is meant to expanded the the Potter universe.

Fantastic Beasts is JK Rowling's first movie screenplay. The Potter novels were adapted for the screen by other writers (Michael Goldenberg for OOTP, Steve Kloves for all the others). It'll be interesting to see how she fares. Novelists don't always make good screenwriters, as it's a very different discipline.

Bold Venture Press, publishers of Pulp Adventures (the magazine whose next issue features my story), have released this homage to James Bond. Nice to see that not everyone has forgotten Bond's pulp roots.

I read reports that a third series of Poldark means Turner will not be able to make the next Bond (if he was ever in he frame). I still think Craig will be in the next one.

I suspect that if Turner had to choose between Poldark and Bond, it'd be bye bye BBC.

I think it may be true, funny how poldark kills turners chances but Craig has hobbies they can work around when he schedules shows.

Sad reality is the new bond or Craig would only need free time the end of 2017 start of 2018. Unless eon gets it in gear and acts like a real production company .

Nobody expected the next bond movie by next year

That's precisely what all this bookie talk is, free publicity and nothing more. The bookies could claim Connery is an odds on favorite to come back to the role (a bit hyperbolic but you get my point), who's going to call them on it, because betting on the next Bond is nothing like say betting on a sporting event, where one can look at the two teams and make an informed decision based on players skill. Who the next Bond will be is only known by the executives at EON and their track record is one of tight lips and secrecy, so the bookies are able to manufacture whatever little rumor pops in to their head.

The bookies don't know. The people making the bets don't know. The bookies have gotten a ridiculous amount of free publicity during this period.
