Blowfeld wrote:My feeling is even without Daniel Craig it would be a Bond desert any how with no oasis in sight. Barbara was determined to make Bond into something it never was in the first place. They really have no new ideas recycling the past decades movies trying to add hidden depths with a pouting actor, drama coaches and overly prestigious cast. Each new outing we constantly get bombarded with how this and that actor is so above 007 they never would have been involved with the franchise before the reboot. What drek! 007 was a phenomenon long before any of these actors could speak their first word and now we are supposed to accept that 007 as Ian wrote him and the team up of Cubby, Saltzman and Ian were misinterpretation of the written word. Bond is supported to be a short thug with short temper to match
You are completely right! Just when I remember that crap Waltz was saying. And then he ends up playing a man(I refuse to call him Blowfeld) who did all that mumbo jumbo because...and I can not believe I actually have to write this... Craig-Bond got one more candy than him after lunch...now that's realism!! And then, they have no shame in saying "This is Fleming's Bond". As I said-REVOLTING.

I read a comment that went something like this:"Those who didn't like Roger Moore style certainly won't like Spectre." Oh,yeah, because Roger Moore was unbelieveably uncharismatic, constantly had one expression and gave an impression of a rock, right? Oh,and in one of his movie the villain turned out be a brother, right?
I find this whole reboot REVOLTING.
Sounds like that person hasn't actually watched a Moore Bond film. Just because Spectre has a few gags and some half-a$$ed formula elements thrown in, doesn't automatically make it a Moore style Bond film, or classic Bond film in general. This kind of mentality is unfortunately the problem with the series. You can cram in all the formula elements you want, it's the overall execution of them that's key, and as Spectre has once again shown, that's something the filmmakers can't seem to grasp. Just take the latest car chase for instance. Two fancy sports cars lazily driving through pretty much empty streets of Rome with no tension/excitement, no cool stunts, and a gadget control prop that's fitting for an Ed Wood film. But hey, it's a gadget-laden car chase which is a popular staple of the Bond series, so that's good enough to the filmmakers.

The lack of passion and creative fatigue is getting worse with every film.

I think Hollywood should remake Top Gun and cast Cr-egg as the new call sign "Charlie." Image Charlie's "older man" date at the officer's club is the real-life "Viper", Pete Pettigrew. He is a retired Navy pilot and TOPGUN instructor, and shot down a MiG during the Vietnam War. He served as the technical consultant on the film.

Even so, why would anyone here want to actually own that thing? To watch it over and over again?

Are you kidding? I will watch it once and give it to my friends. I won't give EON one dime with Cr-egg. They were doling them out on the streets of NYC.

My brother bought a CD disc of SP off a dodgy Chinese woman in London.
We watched the film over Xmas, and the quality was absolute shite!

They generally are, in my (admittedly limited) experience.

The quality of the street dvd was quite good. My one word review: GARBAGE :!: I almost fell asleep during the second half of this epic collection of prior film shorts :!: How can anyone enjoy this? Cr-egg's Bond had 2 holes drilled into his brain and had no blood on his head . This montage of old film scenes morphed into a new film solely based on an old villain from the prior 'real' Bond films is an embarrassment. The plot, editing, and acting were abysmally amateurish and if this is what EON plans to go forward with in the future it should end now. Waltz was another DREADFUL Cr-egg villain as well. :cuss:

DUDE....GO WATCH IT IN THE THEATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SW is our friend. Yes, it's entertaining and nothing like the prequels (which I do enjoy unlike most other people). I saw it 5 times in the theater.

Then wait until the crowd dies down a bit. You buying SP bootleg is fine. But Episode 7? That thing is best to be watched in theaters.
