As most of you may(or may not) know,I have a much(almost 10 years) older sibling who listened to(and got me into) Bowie, the Clash,to name a few. So this is a big loss for both of us. Hell,it's a loss for a lot of people. I am seeing tons of people tweeting favorite Bowie songs, memories(there are a lot of people who have met the man!),etc.

RIP David. :(

I knew of a few of his songs from the radio and tv it's was a knight's tale sound track that really got me to notice him.

The queen team up of under pressure is a favorite. Who knew vanilla ice was a no talent ripoff artiest ;)

Unbelievably, that Sam Smith...thing was nominated for a Best Song Oscar. On the plus side, that was SPECTRE's only Oscar nomination.

unless he is Someone that everyone wants to meet like Adele he's not going to win.

Btw Adele I don't get how Adele has the rep she has, her new album from what I've head is just as stalker chickish as her last.

Oscars are becoming more and more of a joke as the years go by. All critics buy the "serious","complexed" crap whether its actually good or not.

And yet...the only category SPECTRE got nominated in was Best Song. Mad Max: Fury Road was nominated for 10 Oscars. I haven't seen it yet, but it doesn't seem like the sort of worthy-but-dull film that one traditionally associates with the Oscars.

I assume Smith will sing it at the Oscars live? His shrill notes will not be noticed by all the imbibed drunks that will sleep through it..........I watched Connery on Carson last night, which was 2 days before NSNA opened in 1983. Connery does not talk a lot. Carson asked him a trivia question: who was the first actor to portray a Bond "villain"? The correct answer was Peter Lorre, in 1954, in a tv version of CR.........Connery joked, "Cubby Broccoli?" That said a lot about his EON relationship in 1983.

I do think it is a sign of how fed up most were with spectre but eon will probably get the wrong message, not Craig, not the crap story, it s the classic elements they added back that screwed the pooch

Yes, I also think this will unfortunately be the case. While some critics have pointed out the real faults with Spectre, EON will most likely just listen to the ones who hate the classic elements and how it's a return to the horrible Roger Moore style.

The only problem with the classic elements is how they're being misused. Not only do we need a new Bond actor, but a whole new team of filmmakers as well.

That's exactly what we need! But sadly,I don't think we'll see real Bond film in any near future.
I read a comment that went something like this:"Those who didn't like Roger Moore style certainly won't like Spectre." Oh,yeah, because Roger Moore was unbelieveably uncharismatic, constantly had one expression and gave an impression of a rock, right? Oh,and in one of his movie the villain turned out be a brother, right?
I find this whole reboot REVOLTING.

IMO they could remake LTK or GE using in the exact same scrip and get it completely wrong. They lost sight of what bond is supposed to be just because they haven't lost Audience yet they are on the right track

My feeling is even without Daniel Craig it would be a Bond desert any how with no oasis in sight. Barbara was determined to make Bond into something it never was in the first place. They really have no new ideas recycling the past decades movies trying to add hidden depths with a pouting actor, drama coaches and overly prestigious cast. Each new outing we constantly get bombarded with how this and that actor is so above 007 they never would have been involved with the franchise before the reboot. What drek! 007 was a phenomenon long before any of these actors could speak their first word and now we are supposed to accept that 007 as Ian wrote him and the team up of Cubby, Saltzman and Ian were misinterpretation of the written word. Bond is supported to be a short thug with short temper to match
