Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
FBF, read this: Edgar Wright has revealed that the cast of The World's End were starstruck by Pierce Brosnan.
The former James Bond star makes a cameo as drama teacher Guy Shepherd in the final instalment of the Cornetto trilogy, alongside returning co-stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
"It's a funny thing: sometimes if you're a kid and you go to a pub and you see a teacher from school in the pub, you get sort of strangely starstruck that there's a guy you know from school, so we wanted it to feel like that," the film's director and writer said.
"It's like the characters are starstruck by Mr Shepherd, their drama teacher, being in the pub, but there's also an element where our actors are starstruck by Pierce Brosnan."
The filmmaker said Pierce was a dream to work with.
"He was great; really good fun and very sweet because he was flattered that we'd thought of him, but he's actually a great presence. He's got such an amazing voice and as he appears in the movie as a figure of authority, he's somebody to be trusted," he said.
Edgar joked that they should have got former 007 star Roger Moore to appear in the second film of the trilogy, Shaun Of The Dead, following Pierce's cameo in The World's End and Timothy Dalton's part in Hot Fuzz.
"For the timeline to work, Roger Moore really should have been in Shaun Of The Dead - we could have had Moore in Shaun, (Timothy) Dalton in Hot Fuzz and (Pierce) Brosnan in The World's End," he said.

You know I can't handle all of these talks alone. We're talking about the best and most popular Bond since Sean who has been underrated ever since after GE. Even after Bond, he's still wasn't used properly, and the good ones he did were under radar.bjmdds wrote:It shows Wright and Brosnan are already connected and get along great SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO who knows if Wright will use Pierce as his villain in Ant-Man

If anyone can spread the word on the world wide web to push Wright into using Pierce as his villain vs. Ant-Man it's you. Can you imagine Cr-egg's face these days at home realizing no studios want to touch him outside Bond yet sees Brosnan mania is rejuvenated in Hollywood with several options in the action/spy genre. Cr-egg has become a leading man pariah now in tinsel town and I for one am loving it

They have to choose a villain soon in his plot so why not Darren Cross and nominate Pierce for his best role outside of Bond since 2002? If a petition is drafted on the internet, how does Edgar Wright receive it?

Send it to his agent, I guess, not that I expect him to take a blind bit of notice. Nor should he. God help us if filmmakers start making creative decisions based on internet petitions.bjmdds wrote:They have to choose a villain soon in his plot so why not Darren Cross and nominate Pierce for his best role outside of Bond since 2002? Hello my beautiful Bond darlings!!!!
I have AS USUAL been held hostage by WAY too many things happening in real life and work, including a new niece that joined us on Christmas Eve!
I wanted to wish you all and BJ in particular because well, he's the owner of the thread and the master, a SUPER happy 2014 because hopefully it's going to be a fabulous year for us all.
Needless to say, I thought about you all for the whole day today as guess what? A Bond marathon was on Sky Cinema on satellite here, and my mom came to tell me, all happy "ooo there is a BOND marathon! We're watching Goldfinger and having plenty of fun!" Which tonight turned into "Your father watched THREE IN A ROW! (from Goldfinger on, in order)". It started all over again tonight, just the Sir Sean movies, so I more than gladly watched Dr. No, that I ADORE, with my mom. There is no beating Honey Ryder, I'm sorry. The only one I like as much is well... me (Pam Bouvier). So, needless to say, I thought about you all and about how love for the real and classic Bond is inherited.

I won't report what my father said when he saw a commercial for the new Bond ones with Daniel Craig. Which he says every time he sees him. Because I'm a lady and I won't repeat.
Great to see you all in great spirits, as usual!

Well she has returned to ring in the new year
I hope all is well with the new arrival and you are not overdoing it at work as usual.
I hope all is well with the new arrival and you are not overdoing it at work as usual. Your main Bond guy Henry is busy trying to get along with Affleck being his new sidekick. I don't know how that will work out in Superman vs. Batman but we shall see. Affleck may bring down the film and turn his new role into a Batman parody. Any word on your contacts in the know about what's going on behind the scenes at Sony/MGM/Eon and Cr-egg's future? Have you noticed he has ZERO roles lined up outside of Bond now, while Pierce's career is in full reboot and will be doing November Man next year in the spy genre?

I'm well aware Pierce is doing great. My friend saw him filming on the corner of the street in LA while she was on the phone with me and she almost had an accident! And not because she was holding her phone while driving by (she was using earphones and mic of course) but because she almost died at the Pierce hotness!bjmdds wrote:Well she has returned to ring in the new year

Needless to say, I was very proud.
About Henry, I think he and Affleck will get along just fine, Henry is a TRUE gentleman and Affleck knows how to do his job properly. Unlike others, I think he is the right choice for this film and that he and Cavill will actually mesh well acting-wise. The fact Affleck couldn't do ONE super hero doesn't mean he can't do ANY.
Now re: Craig, well what do you expect? Things do sink in after a while in the film industry, and when one is no leading man material (sorry, he absolutely isn't. He is a character actor, not a leading man) and on top of it he isn't all that much of a phenomenal character actor either, well the offers aren't exactly raining. Craig is nothing special. I wish him the best in ANY project he does that IS NOT James Bond as I need him to go the hell away from this franchise and to stop killing the character of James Bond, despite the fact the last movie was better than his previous two (NOT that it took much to accomplish that.). You know it's bad when my father, the one who got me into Bond in the first place, curses every time he sees Daniel Craig's face. And mind you, I NEVER discuss my dislike for Craig with him. He did this all on his own. And then of course I manifested my dislike too, but again, I didn't influence him one tiny bit. My mother dislikes him even more than I do (yes it is possible LOLOL). She too ABSOLUTELY wants Henry Cavill as the next one. And she is firmly a Sean Connery appreciator, but she keeps saying that her favorite after Sir Sean is Pierce. Like mother, like daughter I guess.
I am at a point where I would even take Tom Hiddleston as Bond, as long as we get rid of Craig. I kid you not. If we have to have someone who's got NONE of the Bond characteristics, then at least I want someone who has a great sense of humor, can dance and is sexy in his own dorky way. It is THAT bad for me at this point.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Henry Cavill won't be Bond, not that he's not suitable, he is to a T! Just his name is too big for the role. About Tom Hiddleston or his alikes, nothing against them but no "pretty boy" (a term used for eye candies for the females when they see soft males) should ever touch the role. Bring in a manly man who would take the role, but that should be left in either an alternate universe or under another production, different than EON! If I were to cast a Bond, Clive Owen is my best choice. Manly man, posh and stylish gentleman, very dangerous and threatening, cold, suave, and anything that makes Bond BOND! But if Bond were to stay in EON's evil and demonic hands, I'd rather see the franchise and the production (SPECIALLY BABS!) getting rotten like cabbages! That's about it.

She might sell the franchise once Cr-egg is done. I don't know if replacing him will give her the satisfaction she currently has. With MP as a field agent, Q a child, Cr-egg's career being over outside Bond, and MGW asleep at the wheel, you would think the franchise would collapse, but yet, Broccoli's minions keep coming back for more. Can you imagine 10 moe years of this BAR-bage?

Bond is dead. This one is just a fake person trying to be Jason Bourne. And because it made it to the brand and started comparing with the previous installments, we know that the franchise is doomed. Well, our plan is obvious.FormerBondFan wrote:It's already rotten. Bond is dead, but not really dead as he is very very very very very hungry.John P.
