Man Of Steel won't reach $650 million worldwide.............it did worse than Garfield the cat's Spiderman trashy film.....the budget was $225 million............probably $150 million to advertise it...........so they lost money and are still talking sequels with Batman? It does not add up to a successful endeavour to do a sequel.

Wolverine opened way lower than expected but it is a good movie. Some are saying its fan fatigue but I think it something bigger wrong with the Box Office, several good movie opened lower than expected it seems to be a theme this summer.

BTW The Wolverine is good, it should have some staying power as they say.

As I said, there are just too many movies. The state of the economy probably doesn't help either.

It's like Star Trek reboot a few years ago it didn't make money it was spent to relaunch the franchise. Too bad into darkness will not make money either.

I liked MOS, however I was not devoted to the comics or early movie, so as Craig is catered to people who didn't really like Bond maybe that's what MOS was even though I think they cared about keeping to the spirit of superman while Craig is about being James Bourne emo man of action.

Maybe all the military families suffering the sequester finally caught up to Hollywood. Or the prices did.

The same can be said with Batman Begins.

Except Begins followed the Dark Knight series which gave it more legitimacy.

Batman Begins made peanuts. TDK and TDKR exploded at the box office. Iron Man and Batman and the PRIOR Spiderman seem the three main attractions in the superhero genre films. Thor, Hulk, Superman, Captain America, Garfield's Spidey, and that trash Green Lantern just did not draw ticket sales. Put Bale with Downey and Maguire together somehow and you would outdo the Avengers with possible Avatar numbers at the box office   ...........sort of a King Kong vs. Godzilla human theme. http://mail.yimg.com/ok/u/assets/img/em ... /emo22.gif

China only want to pay 25% of the gross as it is but so far they haven't paid anything.

It is fueling the current craze of reboot and series starters, its ok if that don't make money the first try by the third it'll be a major money maker, but it hasn't worked out for Star Trek or some of the others ,,so far.

I just made an additional Bond forums page, fellas, where Cr-egg minions are completely not allowed as opposed to this page. Oh, no don't take any offence at all, I just want to build a huge empire against Cr-egg and Babs, so please join. But, Cr-egg minions are not allowed, I repeat. I bet BJMDDS will join. LOL!

Both Begins and Trek had a budget of $150 million, and out of the two, Trek made more. And as far as first sequels are concerned, Batman got lucky. As for Into Darkness so far, it has made $450,308,503. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=startrek12.htm

Why is that, BJ? Craig is a disgrace to the real Bond fans.
