Kevin McClory's unfilmed 1976 script for the rogue James Bond project "Warhead", based on a screenplay he penned with Sean Connery and author Len Deighton, was previously sold at Christies auction house in a combined lot on Thursday 4th December 2008 for £46,850. Another copy of the screenplay has come up for auction, again at Christies, but this time the estimated sale price is a much lower £1,000 – £1,500. The Warhead script features various characters in the cast list Bond girls called Justine Lovesit and Fatima Blush.

Robert Sellers devotes a chapter in his book The Battle For Bond to the film project, Warhead - The Bond Film That Never Was. In it, he gives a detailed description of the background to this script which was a collaboration between producer Kevin McClory, thriller writer and creator of the Harry Palmer character immortalised on screen by Michael Caine - Len Deighton, and the first screen Bond - Sean Connery. Sellers depicts this script as: one of the great-unfilmed scripts in cinema history, described in Hollywood circles as 'Star Wars' underwater. As a result of a combination of legal objections from Eon Productions and Connery's and Paramount's ensuing reservations, Warhead was never made.

With Never Say Never Again, Kevin McClory used his hard fought for rights to the Thunderball script updating it with '80s technology. Sean Connery was enticed back to the role of Bond by a number of inducements including total creative control, a $3million fee, and a percentage of the profits. The film's ironic title pre-empted the media frenzy which greeted Connery's return as 007. Connery's performance in the film was widely regarded as having held the whole movie together.

The screenplay will be auctioned by Christies as Lot 51 in the 'Pop Culture' event on June 26th 2013 in London. It's estimated sale price is £1,000 – £1,500.

But first things first, Sheamus takes over once DC retires and do the same amount of films DC did or will do. After that, the role shall be invaded by monsters including the one from the above video.

Returns didn't do that well considering the price difference it not over performing, still at $375 million cost WB/DC are not making money either.

Still even with inflation Returns is $590 million movie, I think MOS will beat it

Believe it or not, this film makes Superman Returns look great.

Reeve will always be Superman, and Brando will always be Jor-El. This new film is a bad joke. And yes, it's on par with Batman & Robin.

I came home with a headache and had to take 2 tablets. The second half is so noisy, its like watching a computer game. Just tons of meaningless CGI. How many times can we see buildings explode, how many times can Superman and Zod thrown each other into skyscrapers. The second half of the movie really is a mess. And the character of Superman is dark, broody, and has lots of issues. If you hated what Craig has done with Bond, and what Nolan did with Batman, then you will really, REALLY hate this.
Well I just witnessed TMOS with two other friends in IMAX 3-D. The vote was unanimous......we all HATED the film :!: The Sweeney is correct :!: First of all, the 3-D was a rip off because it was added AFTER the film was done. I could barely tell the difference taking the 3-D glasses off vs. wearing them at times. Secondly, the plot was dreadful and the editing with the flashbacks seemed out of place. I cannot believe nobody recognized Clark Kent as Superman when it was shown. The non stop over the top CGI was tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much to bare. Lois Lane knew way too much about Superman's origin. She lacked chemistry with Superman. Costner's role giving moronic advice to his son was way off reality and Costner's eventual fate was not realistic in what should have happened. Jor-el was poorly portrayed by a tired and boring Gladiator Crowe. Zod was a lunatic rockum sockum robot. What happened to Metropolis was tedious and ridiculous and at the end it was somehow magically restored quickly. I would rank it above Batman and Robin and Ang Lee's Hulk, but not by much. Cavill seemed amateurish acting as Superman, had minimal stage presence, but was passable and better than Routh. The theatre was 2/3 EMPTY at 6:30pm :!: It's heading south, and quickly. I would NEVER pay to see this twice. Superman II was a classic. This was a classic waste of an attempt to mimic 1980's film.
For once we agree on something BJ......

is it the new style or that some are more familiar with the older style movies which has the superman base upset?
I was never a fan of the Christoper Reeve movies by the time I was old enough it was the last movies and they were so bad nobody cared about them.

But even a movies hit the billion mark do not make that much money, Skyfall I think was only clearing over $100 million profit after it hit a billion, Avengers and Iron Man also didn't make as much as we'd think. I enjoyed MOS I didn't think it was too far off the mark of superman and to me didn't seem too dark either, I would replace Lois Lane in heart beat,

Warner Bros Pictures and co-financier Legendary Pictures said today that its Superman reboot earned more than $500 million worldwide Saturday with some international territories still to open. Warner Bros Pictures President of Domestic Distribution Dan Fellman and President of International Distribution Veronika Kwan Vandenberg said 3D Man Of Steel has earned $248.7M domestically and $271.7M internationally for a worldwide total of $520.4M to date. It opened #1 in the U.S. and Canada with the biggest June release ever and also #1 one in many international territories and continues its roll out with record-breaking bows. The film is still to open in Brazil and Japan. The PG-13 film continues to set records worldwide in IMAX theatres, where it has earned an estimated $27M domestically and $18.9M internationally for a worldwide total of $45.9 million. “This success for Man of Steel is a great 75th birthday present for this iconic character. The film took Superman back to his roots for a new generation of moviegoers, who have once again embraced Krypton and Kansas’ favorite son,” Fellman said in the official statement. “The film’s strong CinemaScore tells us that word of mouth should keep the Man Of Steel flying through the summer.” The studio thanked director Zach Snyder profusely but didn’t mention Christopher Nolan, who mentored and produced and co-wrote the story as well as handpicked Snyder, or screenwriter David S Goyer. Both Snyder and Goyer are prepping the sequel.

It is often claimed, incorrectly, that the brand name originated with tycoon Armand Hammer, who owned a considerable amount of Church and Dwight stock in the 1980s and served on its board of directors. In fact, Hammer was named after the "Arm and Hammer" symbol of the Socialist Labor Party of America (SLP), in which his father, a committed socialist, had a leadership role at one time. The Arm & Hammer brand was in use some 31 years before Hammer was born, so Hammer's purchase of stock in the company appears to have been either an attempt to get the company to take "his" name off its baking soda or an odd attempt by Hammer to make the persistent claim true rather than having to constantly explain the lack of relation.

I might go to Lone Ranger because it was filmed around here.I don't think Depp should use his claim to be part Indian to play Tonto that amount of blood he claims most tribes wouldn't recognize him, besides Cherokee blood and some of the Eastern tribes are harder to prove because so many could pass a whites they were able to merge with the white society so they buried the family secret to keep from being persecuted, the Cherokee were the best at adapting sadly it didn't stop the whites/US from betraying them.

BTW MOS there is a prequel story involving Supergirl, [spoil]when Zod says Clark/Kal-el set off the emergency beacon he didn't it was most likely Kara[/spoil]

After getting crushed in its second frame, Man of Steel managed to ease the bleeding this weekend. The Superman reboot fell 50 percent to an estimated $20.8 million; to date, it's earned $248.7 million, which makes it the second-highest-grossing movie of the year so far behind Iron Man 3 ($405.4 million). It's now on track for between $290 and $310 million. (It might surpass Sk-Awful's USA numbers upon completing it's run. Who thought Cavill would top Cr-egg in a USA head to head blockbuster type film?)

White House Down cost $250 million, WWZ $400 million, MOS $375 million, Into darkness I'd bet is about the same and Lone Ranger is another $300-400 million movie, what is Hollywood thinking??!!?

I just read a story about how White House down flopping could really hurt Sony, the store went on to say they had successes last year with spider man and Bond but bond they only share the profit and spider man was probably another loser costing in the rang of $350-400 million with all the costs.

Maybe Lucas and Spielberg are right :(
