Joe Don aw gawd no! Timothy Dalton was offered OHMSS before Lazenby, he would be interesting at it, too young maybe?
I truly hope they do not start doing remakes, eventually I think they will if only because they have no new ideas. Maybe they reboot with the next 007.

Re: OHMSS (1987)
This is an intriguing what if. If Dalton had started in 1983, then I think he could have easily made OHMSS in 1987. Even though TLD is my favourite Bond film, I wouldn't use that same cast for OHMSS. JDB was perfectly fine as Whittaker (a character that could have come from the mind of Flemig himself), but I would not have picked him for Blofeld. Klaus Kinski would have made a chilling Blofeld.
I feel that with Bond having grown tired with the spy game, OHMSS would need to be the 3rd or 4th film, not a debut.

Re: OHMSS (1987)
I think OHMSS would have suited Dalton perfectly since he had that aura of world weariness. He was also the most romantic of all the Bonds.
Probably he would have handled the dramatic scenes better than any other Bond actor as well.

Yes, Dalton has said in several interviews that he was about 24 when they first approached him about James Bond and felt he was far too young for the part. I don't think he liked the idea of being the first non-Connery Bond either.Blowfeld wrote:Joe Don aw gawd no!
