Did you like Eva in Casino Royale. She seems to receive lots criticism from those who loved the film.

No problem with Eva. Great Bond girl, one of the best as far as I'm concerned.
Good actress, played the role well.
Just out of interest carl, what criticisms are you talking about?

To me she was the weakest link in the film. I don't think she is particularly attractive, and the croaky voice annoyed the hell out of me.

Munro was much more my type......

Eva didn't want to do CR and I wish she would have gone with her first instinct.
She really was bad as Vesper. What was her accent supposed to be anyhow?

Those "critical" of Casino Royale comeup with usual "South African" accent and "she didn't have a lot to do and didn't" crticisms of Eva. But, I had a look at the some of the other Bond forums and lots of people who loved Casino Royale were disappointed with Eva Green - as the Sweeney's post just showed.

They really needed to search for a better leading lady. -She was great in other movies but flat in this one. :?
Diana Rigg had great chemistry with GL and as much as I didn't want to like the Bond in love story. –I couldn't help myself when Tracy died.
Vesper's death left me puzzled. –in the book she –thought- she had no other way out- in the movie I couldn't help thinking BS. -Also the drowning in Poseidon was better. :?

i didn't like eva green. she isn't as attractive as a typical Bond girl, and had some of the worst makeup i've ever seen on an actress since the 1980's.
i couldn't buy the idea that James Bond would sacrifice his career for such a nothing woman. if he'd fall for her, imagine what he'd do if he met a real bombshell like Ursula Andress, Barbara Bach, or Famke Jansen.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I felt the same way about Diana Rigg.
Just doesn't do it for me. Rather ordinary looking I find.

oh, I have to disagree on Diana Rigg. Mrs. Peel was my favorite female companion for John Steed. she always looked oh so fashionable and alluring, inmho.

Can't disagree more. Diana Rigg is one of the only women in the 60s –IMO- imaginable in the role of Tracy. She has the beauty and the strength and style to be believable as the woman JB loved & married.

This is scary. I agree with you on that one Nash.

I have never felt Diana Rigg to be that special. I also thought her relationship with GL to be one of the weaker aspects of that film.

I personally did not mind Eva. I thought she was one of the better parts of CR.

Diana Rigg is a British cultural icon with The Avengers and On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

Eva was wasted in Casino Royale. Maybe she would have been better in a better written Bond movie.

The Green/Craig partnership did not work. Craig looked too old, and Green looked to young. A younger actor - or one that looked younger -would have been more convincing. It undermined the young Bond falling in love which makes him the Bond we know element, and reminded me of the jarring age difference in A View To A Kill.

I don't think Eva Green would be good in any Bond film.

I think Eva Green was pretty good, I like her looks but her voice sounded a bit odd I agree. I haven't seen her in any other film.

The love story though was flat and why did she have to kill herself all of a sudden?

I know it was in Fleming's book but it didn't work for me in this cinematic version. In that case it would have been better if she was killed off in some way I think.

The love story in OHMSS is also flat and there is absolutely no chemistry between Lazenby and Diana Rigg.

Eva looks well hot here.
