Captain America will release a week after HP. After that, Cowboys & Aliens releases. Captain America is interesting, but would it be overpowered by HP at the box office? From what I recalled, The Dark Knight destroyed The Mummy 3 and The X-Files 2 at the box office.

I don't so. Sean did action movies up to his early 70s so that shouldn't be a problem for Harrison.

I haven't seen either trailer, but people seem to be getting quite excited about the first one. That could be a game-changer from a box-office point of view. Remember when the mediocre thriller The Firm became the movie that finally knocked Jurassic Park off the no.1 slot, purely on the strength of a superb trailer?

BJ, you really are a blessing. I just got REALLY annoyed and angry because of the usual incompetent people one has to deal with work-wise... I re-read your Craig post and just had a good laugh. Too bad if I think the guy is cast as Bond the laugh goes :cuss:

I thought the Captain America trailer was great. I am not into that franchise, but I thought the Transformers one was really good, too. Thor was good but nothing sensational. Cowboys & Aliens paled in comparison. And, when word of mouth is out, I doubt they will do much by the looks of this. It may be just a bad trailer and the movie is good. I really thought both the first trailer and this one they aired during SB were REALLY bad. It looks like a completely nonsensical thing.

FBF, I think Harrison Ford doesn't compare to Sir Sean. Sir Sean aged well in terms of acting, and did better movies later in age compared to some of the stuff he did earlier. Harrison Ford is doing the exact opposite, and has been doing REALLY bad movies for a few years now. I do think he's way past his prime. I can't get over how GODAWFUL he was in that INSULTING Sabrina remake with Julia-artichokehairandface-Ormond in the role of AUDREY HEPBURN'S character. Good Lord. I'd like to go get the casting director, the script writer and the director for that movie and shoot them. :gun: And note: the director was Sydney FREAKING POLLACK! He should be ashamed of himself for directing such crap. It was an INSULT to a movie that is an all-time classic, with HUGE actors and Billy freaking Wilder as the screen writer and director. And this is not just because Sabrina (the original) is my all-time favorite movie... anyone understanding a slight thing about movies would say the same. The only good thing they did in that insulting remake was cast Greg Kinnear as David Larrabee. He was the ONLY one who did well and played the character well (even though he's no William Holden, but the comparison between the old and updated character stood well)Of course since nobody is THAT stupid and most who went to see that Sabrina HAD seen the original, the movie was an utter BOMB at the box office. They didn't even cover budget with US ticket sales  (budget $58 mln, US box office grossed $53 mln).

And then, still about Harrison Ford... that other hilariously BAD movie with Anne Heche?(Seven Days Seven Nights or something) And he was too old when he did the last Indy one, too. The last time he did something decent was in 1997 with Air Force one.

What I worry about is Harry Potter 7 (Part 2) nosediving to big drop a week after its release. Part 1 went into a 60% drop a week after its release and another 60% drop a week after that. That was bad enough. Harry Potter is finishing this year (the franchise's 10 year anniversary) and deserves to end up in very HIGH note, and Part 2 should be the 2011's top grosser. I know there's a lot of competition this summer, compared to the previous years, but it wouldn't make any sense for Part 1 nosedive like Part 1 was.

Sean has made a very bad choice in the end. His last movie The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen didn't do very well, and he deserves better.

Ford does make a bad choice these days, and I hope Pierce doesn't end in the same fate.

I think Pierce's recent choices have mostly been good ones, the excruciating Remember Me excepted.

FBF, HP should do extraordinary numbers. With the demise of Voldemort on tap once and for all, HP7-2(almost like the name of a rare virus :P ) the box office receipts will be great. Captain America won't do HP7-2 numbers either. Relax. Concentrate on that meeting between Seagal and Broccoli. That would sell out the Rose Bowl!

With good reason. A hollowed out volcano lair, perhaps?

They do seem to live in some sort of bubble, only popping out every now and then to attend a premiere or award ceremony, but not to meet the fans?

I think we should have Cee Lo Green do the theme song for Bond 23 in honor of his ridiculous hit now F--K Y-U, to be sung at the Grammy's with Gwyneth Paltrow and dedicate it to Barbara and Mikey! :happy spin:

My impression was they were 2 LA kids pretending to be British on some estate they bought with the proceeds from selling a British Icon to the British People for 50 years. I don't think they are any more out of touch than any other middle aged trust fund baby, they are more out of touch than any other film maker with a popular series film series because they have no idea who their fans are. Nothing to do with Craig or Pierce, there are film makers out there who go to fan conventions and pay attention to what is liked and disliked. The Bond 23 news so far seem to indicate they live in a sound and light proof room.

People are excited about superman, I could name 10 other series people are excited over more then Bond. Early yet but the news production got started is immediately followed by do they know not to make another QOS?

I'm just hoping that the Hobbit gets finished in time(I heard filming won't start 'till next month, and Martin Freeman has to go back to the UK in May to do the second season of Sherlock) to kick Bond 23's backside.

I'm not even a Hobbit fan but it would serve them right if it kicked Bond 23's ass. I can't even understand how these people managed to keep the franchise going before. Guess it was because Babs the crazy still hadn't had a crush on an improbable Bond actor.

But, don't despair... there's always hope for revolution. That must happen at Eon too at some point, since MGW has kids

So far I wouldn't think so. But I want more certain news about the movie before starting to insult them like I did when I read the CR script  (I sure did, and yes I wasn't fooled. It didn't sound like a Bond movie at all, and it wasn't a Bond movie at all). Once we get a couple of CERTAIN pieces of information about plot and casting, then I think we can say for sure. And stay assured like with QoS, we'll be the only ones saying it's an absolute travesty... while the fanboys will say "awesome! Don't listen to those who criticize, they're nuts!" (and that's the "light" version )

Hm, I just realized I may know those who know where Wilson and Babs live
