The Last Movie You Watched

Tired to watch the Losers last firday night (late), Heard it was like the A-team, maybe better. I can say it was inspired by the A_team no doubt. but god it sucked. I coudln't bring myself to finish it. It was that bad.
The Losers "Hannibal" was a guy who looked like the Brother from everybody loves Raymond, the villain was something Mr bean's Johnny english would have laughed at. Bad all the way around, the name fit it like a glove.

Haven't seen the movie, but the comic it's based on is well worth checking out.

Hadn't seen the comic around. not surprising the comic would be better written. This was just crap the characters could be likable if they had a good story and one that wasn't way too predictable

Saw District 9 the other night. It was entertaining, though not as groundbreaking or original as its reviews would suggest. Sort of a cross between The Fly and any number of "break into the enemy's headquarters and steal the McGuffin" type thrillers (eg. Terminator 2 or even FRWL).

Some people have described Wikus' transformation in District 9 as being similar to Jeff Goldblum's turning into Brundlefly.I thought Wikus' transformation wasn't as gross as Brundlefly, though.

We watched Bolt on netflix online. What a stupid mvoie. I just don't get what they were thinking. I works if you do not care. So young children may like it. Mine were old enough to dislike it.

I am trying recall the Last good movie we've seen.... Hang on still thinking..... I don't know nothing stands out. Saw a few pieces of Patton, what a amazing movie that was. The kind of movie I don't think Hollywood can make any mroe. Basically I'll take anything in the last 20-30 years over what Hollywood has made over the last 10

Patton is a classic.

I've never seen Patton the whole way through..seems like it's on the classic movie channels( American Movie Classics and Turner Classic movies) all the time.

Bolt was released on the same day as Twilight, and that was the week after QOS released.

Patton as general I do not think much of him. As a man I think even less, but the movie is a marvelous example of what Hollywood used to do right, now a Patton remake would be all be digital tanks and smoke probably with Paul Giamatti as Patton and Jack Black as Bradley.

I see we have a Monty fan! Last great British general I know of was George Washington One thing that Patton made interesting was the politics getting the coalition to work together in the field.

Saw Let Me In today.. I LOVED it. Mind you, I saw Let The Right One In, which this is based on. A lot of fans of the original movie were not happy about this movie being made.I'm not one of them!


The change from Sweden to New Mexico is fine-there are very few places in the States that have that pretty-but-desolate look like New Mexico-in this case Los Alamos-has.


There were a few changes- the two main character's names- from Oskar and Eli in the original to Owen and Abby here. One key plot point in the movie is moved from the middle of the movie to the start. It actually works quite well.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Effectively a companion piece to Terry Gilliam's "Dreamer Trilogy" (Time Bandits, Brazil and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen), whether you like it will largely depend on your attitude to those films. As always with Gilliam, the "story" is an undisciplined mess, but his astonishing visual imagination keeps you watching regardless. I watched it twice on DVD, the second time with the director's commentary, and I think that's the only way to really make sense of it, since at least one crucial plot point (namely the fact that Tony was using his children's charity as a front for an illegal trade in human organs taken from the third world children he was supposed to be helping) is referred to so casually in the film itself that I missed it the first time round.

I'm probably the last person on this board to find this out, but I've just read that Imaginarium star Andrew Garfield is the new Spiderman. Probably the only time you'll ever see Spidey and The Joker in the same movie.

Jackass 3D- hysterical!

Kick-Ass. Great fun, in a somewhat twisted way, but it betrayed its own initial premise. It started out with the simple question "What if an ordinary teenager with no special abilities decided to put on a costume and fight crime?" By the end, however, he's flying a jet pack with machine guns attached. 10/10 for the first two acts, 6/10 for the third.
