Debate is great;however, a pro-Craigger trying to TEACH us something about the Bond franchise? Calling this forum a 'bitch fest' is real clever? Really now. The tolerance level at your 'other home' does not exist beyond 2 or 3 anti-Craig posts. By the way, USA network just premiered your's and Jimbo's favorite Bond film, CR. It will be on for 4 consecutive evenings. I await to see how much longer after that. USA tossed out a bunch of dough for those rights I bet.

He only called this place a bitch fest after the abuse was hurled at him. His initial post was friendly, and did not go into this forum with guns a' blazing. I'm not suprised he retorted with these comments after being accused of lying and being a teenager. You started similar provoking threads on MI6, then slagged the place off for being narrow minded when your posts were met with similar hostility. Yet now you are doing the exact same thing. The original poster has hardly been in this thread at all. If this is how we welcome newcomers to a forum, which is supposed to be open for healthy, intelligent discussion, in a civillised manner, from any viewpoint, then we ain't doing a very good job.

I'll say it again. His original post was well-constructed, fairly friendly, opinionated, and opposing - but not personally attacking anyone whatsoever. The boldest thing he said was that he preferred CR to the previous Bond films, and that people here should give CR another viewing. Now where the hell is the trolling in his original post? He didn't come in here and say everyone is dumb, stupid, pathetic, etc. His post was provoking, yes, controversial, yes (considering the forum) but so what. This is supposed to be a forum, open for debate. I'll say it again. DEBATE!

If this is not a forum open to newcomers with a different standpoint, then what is the difference between this site and the pro-Craig sites that get slagged off constantly. I believe this site began with that good intention, but as time has progressed, and other, less worthy members joined the forum with different agendas, some people here have forgotten that fact. They are now judging any new member who has a different opinion with utter contempt and suspicion.

The way BJ and Katied have behaved here, it is no better than the aggressive posters on other Bond forums.

I think the members of this forum need to face up to it. Your old god is dead and thank you Mr Craig for that. I can’t believe anyone could sit through an old Bond film without realising how bad they actually are. Casino Royale had a depth never before seen in a Bond film it’s as simple as that.

I see it as a form of bullying, designed to enforce conformity to one particular viewpoint where multiple viewpoints exist. For me, it brings back unpleasant memories of the outbreaks of mass hysteria that followed the death of Princess Diana and 9/11 (though obviously on a smaller scale), when groupthink dictated how we were "supposed" to feel, and which eventually led to violence, such as people being beaten up in record stores for not buying copies of Elton John's mawkfest. Some of us don't like having our opinions dictated to us by others.

For the record, Jimmy, I have seen Casino Royale three times (once with Rifftrax commentary, twice without), and each time liked it a little less than the last, whereas I can still watch the classic Bond films over and over again, so your theory about how if we just keep watching, we will see the light and cast the pre-2006 Bond films into the outer darkness are just your experience, not some universal self-evident truth. I really don't feel inclined to ever watch CR again, at least not without the Rifftrax commentary to keep me amused.
