Website: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/a155 ... -bond.htmlWill Smith has revealed that he would like to be the first African-American James Bond.
The Seven Pounds star is confident that he would be a hit as the silver-screen spy, and that he would "guarantee the box office" if chosen, according to Extra.
Smith also nominated rapper P. Diddy and fellow actor Jamie Foxx for the role, saying: "Puff probably lives the most like James Bond.
"Jamie Foxx got the swag for James Bond. He can sing too, so he can add a new element to Bond. Wooing the ladies...and I think I can guarantee the box office!"
Smith added that he is set to reprise his role as Agent J in Men In Black 3, stating that he has had "a couple of meetings" with the production team behind the first two films.

He'd certainly be good for box office. That's the kindest thing I can say about this suggestion. If you think the invisible car defied belief, how about a white Briton suddenly metamorphosing into an African-American?

Wooing ladies is a new element only after Craig's psychopath.
In Smith's defense after Craig there so little of James Bond left in the series it really doesn't matter what they do with it or who they cast.
I thought Sony was getting close to a MIB3... Hope they bring a story this time.

I don’t understand the need for qualifying this as a "black bond" James Bond was a character of Ian Fleming's creation, down to the illustration, from almost 60 years ago. He was a Caucasian man. Why the need to "rewrite" a fictional character's race?? He is who he is. It's bizarre. Just have a spy who happens to also be black, and develop an original character --What’s next -a white superfly??

Will Smith is an idiot. Bond is who he is, period, end of story.

I like Will, but him as Bond? No.

Same here. But even putting aside any concerns about an African-American Bond, his onscreen persona is so well-known that you'd always think of him as Will Smith rather than as James Bond.katied wrote:Kristatos wrote:He'd certainly be good for box office. Exactly. I worry that Will would try to sneak some Scientology stuff into the movie, too.Same here. But even putting aside any concerns about an African-American Bond, his onscreen persona is so well-known that you'd always think of him as Will Smith rather than as James Bond.
