SPECTRE Theme Song
I suppose I will have to watch this new video.
A few things of note, Sam is a Craig fan boy did not like Bond before Daniel made it gritty and real. However I'm not sure the singers and not contractually obligated to love the Bond they sing for. A lot of divided opinion, some are comparing it to Michael Jacksons earth song.
If somebody has the link for the video themselves please post them here.
This link has a most of the songs, I can't find a way to link to the videos without the story.

Adele; I love her voice however the ditty she hammered out was atrocious lyrically.

Re: SPECTRE Theme Song
In the olden days there seemed to be several people putting forward a song for each Bond movie. Now Eon seem to ask one act who coblbe together something in an afternoon, which is what Sam Smith and those two clowns who come up with the QOS theme evidently did.

You can listen to the full song here.
Like most, I didn't care for Smith's whiny high-pitched singing, and the song is just too slow and boring. So this now makes it five Bond songs in a row that I can't stand. I doubt that my favourite Bond song, A View To A Kill, will ever be topped at this rate.

The tune of the song isn't too bad..........its a shame, when Sam Smith starts singing though.......he's far too high pitched!
It's just a song by the numbers though................and i can't believe this is the best they could do, considering they had a very long time to find a decent song!
After, the truly awful song by Jack White for QOS..............i thought the film makers had come to their senses when they picked a more appropriate song for Skyfall, with Adele singing.
Oh dear.......new song isnt the worst Bond theme ever, but its definitely right at the bottom of the list.
The comments section on the BBC website says it all.
Just got to hope the film Spectre is a far better effort.

This morning I've heard the new Bond song by Sam Smith. Well, sometimes we're a little bit too fast with our judgements, but already now I dare to say: This is nothing ... After a few seconds I can not stand the falsetto voice of Smith, it hurts my ears. And I can't recognize a melody. If it is true, Smith wrote the song in some 20 minutes - you hear it ... I would like to say, after the Alicia Keys desaster for QOS, this is the second worst Bond song of the entire series. Pardon me ...

Yep I completely agree. Aft that intro I expected a Tom Jones level of power but instead got a whimpering unarticulating mess.

+100Singers agree too, it's horrible.

the music felt like james bond style I like it, but his horrible singing ruined the entire song

+100Singers I'm probably one of the few who actually liked the theme from QOS. But there's no question Cornell has so far produced the best new line of Bond songs. SkyFall was just an indulgeance of the industry's love for Adele and this one has carried that same notion to the next level with Sam Smith. They didn't consider fans of the franchise for a second.

I'm sorry, I respect Sam Smith, but this is nothing enviable. What happened to golden music from the likes of Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner? What happened to that explosive intro we have always wanted?

As other have said it is a Eurovision entry at best. After listing to the song several times it simple does not do the job, might fair better with the graphics, however the lyrics and tone song are a let down for Bond fans. Sadly I think it fits the pretentious tone of the film quite well.

Re: SPECTRE Theme Song
Absolutely atrocious! Smiths voice fluctuates between straining on the toilet to getting his manhood caught in a vice! The lyrics are poorly cobbled together, full of forced rhymes, I believe the story he wrote that in an hour, any more effort than that expended on that finished product would have been an absolute waste of time. The cheap joke lyrics I wrote for the unofficial novel were better laid out, and I'm a complete hack!

Very true Omega, it reflects EON's entire approach to Bond of late, trying to be so "deep" but in the end rings completely hollow and bodged together.Omega wrote:they've jumped the shark trying to bring emotional depth where it wasn't neededDaltonite Toothpaste wrote:f**king awful springs to mind. Re: SPECTRE Theme Song
This is the most disgraceful Bond tune in history by far. I thought DAD and QoS were bad, but even they sound like they come from angels compared to this rubbish! Whiny high pitched squeals which at some times barely resemble words. I loved Skyfall's theme song I have to admit, but I can't believe they would let bar drop so far that it would go through the floor.
My biggest fear is that this pathetic attempt at a more "deep", "soulful" approach will result in them making some horrible, botched re-hash of OHMSS which many are betting on.

Yes, there were a couple of fakes on there when I looked the other day. I finally found it on the Guardian website, of all places.

That song is awful. It will never reach the Adele fame or Madonna both are played on Sirius radio often. How could anyone in charge have listened to this song and though yes this is the one. The man has talent the song is garbage, except her Bond song was a lot better.
Is David Arnold back? I know some hate him but he worked more with singers making the opening song.
