I could see them kill Craig in the pts then try to play a clever game for the next two hours of who dunnit. But I think babs got cold feet on the bond suicide story, out of fears it might actually kill her golden goose. Craig doesn’t care never did.

I don't believe they were ever seriously considering killing Bond. It sounds like clickbait to me.

It may be. But I think Craig’s ego would go there. I also think films like Logan would influence his perception of it being artsy for bond to die. There are also creditable Hollywood rumors (if there is such a thing) that this is what Craig wanted for his send off. But it all could be crap that is only repeated to get clicks.
Now if EON ever embraces the code name fan fiction then they are done as a franchise. Partly why I think the reboot and bond becoming bond has hurt them in the long run. They took a cheap concept as a storytelling cheat instead of actually coming up with new story arcs going forward. If they had not rebooted in 2006 bond would be in a better place going forward. Of course maybe not all that different at this point because EON might be just as stuck for ideas as they are now.
