We shouldn't call it "Bond 24"

Post by 005 »

There is absolutely no reason that we should call ANY of the Craig movies "Bond movies." By definition they're not Bond films, they're just Bourne ripoff flicks that have a character who's referred to as "James Bond" occasionally, for some reason - and a name does not make a character. If anything, we should just call it "Craig 4," not "Bond 24." There's only been 20 actual Bond films (well, 21 if you count NSNA).

005, welcome back after a hiatus :!: Visit more often. Another east coast recruit on this forum. I actually go to harness racehorse auctions in Harrisburg Pa passing by your area. Bond no longer exists. Just ask FBF and the Drakester. The R.I.P. was deemed in 2002 after DAD ended and Broccoli went on her boy toy hunt. The only Quantum Of Solace we will have is when Sony or MGM buys her out for good.

I don't regard the Craig films as Bond films. There was a series set up by Cubby Broccoli and Harry Saltzman but Barbara Broccoli obviously hated it and scrapped it when she got full control of the series. Also Barbara Broccoli/Craig/the Craig fans feel the Craig era is superior and more artistic than the old series and make fun of the Cubby Broccoli series on sites such as MI6 and CommanderBond.

The Craig films are part of the official Eon series and the next film will be the 24th film in that series. Maybe we should call it the 24th Official Bond film/4th Craig "fake Bond" film.

And John Barry returning from beyond to do the score again. David Arnold has lost his touch.

I don't count the '54 version. It was a TV episode, not a movie.

Here's a better title:

Second to last Bond movie before Babs The B1tch cast either unattractive actors or fighters/wrestlers who can act to replace DC as Bond.

I still think he's the best of the non-Barry composers, though, certainly better than Thomas Newman. Which has inspired be to create a poll over in the polls and games section, to see what everyone else thinks.

Honestly the only other composer i think would be a great successor to Barry is John Williams.

Best composer to do a jazzy 60s-styled theme for Bond would be Ludovic Bource. That man nails everything quite accurately. But, does this 'bond' deserve a great work? IMO, just let them pick their artsy (non-sense in sane words) crew and make artsy movies with politically correct stuff.

I got a new title.

The Eggs Are Not Scrambled

Don't ask. Just popped in my mind. Probably you could ask William Boyd.
