It was the low point of the movie for me, and gives the lie to the claims that this is "Flemming's Bond". Fleming saw Bond as a sort of latter-day knight errant, and allusions to the legend of St George and the dragon are a recurrent motif in his works. Could you imagine St George, or any other knight of yore, passively letting the dragon chow down on a damsel in distress before finally getting around to slaying it?commander0077again wrote:and as for Bond suddenly being a bad shot .... the bad guy, whatever his name is, kills the pitiful girl (one of the high points of the low movie),

An atheist can imagine it, Kris. I've even had arguments about these kind of things on Facebook and many other community web pages. And the sad thing is, they agree with the latter option, it's pathetic. They say this Cr-egg interpretation of the character is exactly the same as Fleming's. For real? Now, I know that Damon's Bourne disgusts me to the core but at least he saved ONE GIRL'S life, yes he did. You want someone worse than Bourne? Two words: Daniel Craig. Like you said, this is Flemming's Bond, not Fleming's.Kristatos wrote:It was the low point of the movie for me, and gives the lie to the claims that this is "Flemming's Bond".
