Re: Holiday Thread 2012
I'm eating lots of food and watching as many Christmas related tv shows as possible.
I still have some shopping to do.
I have egg and chips for the Xmas meal (only joking).
For Christmas I'd like a tangerine and a wooden toy!

Bring back Bond!

I love Christmas movies-and Christmas music. Though not crazy about hearing it before Halloween-or earlier, which happens!

*What are you doing for the holidays?
Staying home this year and planning on watching the first few Bond with my father and any kids who want to join us. Three generations on one sofa! Continuing a tradition! (I hope)
*Have you finished your shopping?
Two or three things left. Got most of it online this year for a change saved a great deal of time this year.
*Your traditional Christmas meal
Turkey usually, going for a baked Ham for the Christmas eve dinner with some extended family and turkey for Christmas day at our house.
*What's on your wish list this year?
I'd like to fine either a kit or plans for a above ground garden boxes for my wife. Don't have want for myself but she always surprises me with something I never thought.

Re: Holiday Thread 2012
Hmmm, I have various Christmas films that I really enjoy, but if I had to pick one of my all-time favourites, it would probably be the 1964 version of Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. I may get bashed for that, but oh well, I think it's a great Christmas classic.
In regards to A Christmas Carol, out of the versions I've seen, I liked the 1951 version starring Alastair Sim the best.

Alastair Sim's Scrooge is great.
A long Long time ago I saw a early Hollywood edition of either one of the last silent film or fist talkies, for the day the work done to make the ghosts was rather impressive.
Always enjoy National lampoon Christmas vacation.

I have been watching the classic Christmas movie Crazy for Christmas which is always a tradition; I love the music.

There are many classic Scrooge adaptions of Scrooge but my favourite for the last several Christmases has been the very pleasant Patrick Stewart version.
And of course I always watch Christmas Vacation too.

1938 Reginald Owen's more pleasant than darker 1951 Sim's version. Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol is classic too. Seymour Hick's 1935 version is interesting too.Blowfeld wrote:Alastair Sim's Scrooge is great.

I see Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer + Twas the Night Before Christmas and raise it Frosty the Snowman and Frosty's Winter Wonderland
Patrick Stewart's Scrooge is one of our favorites. I don't think it was on TNT this year or last.

Re: Holiday Thread 2012
I have to give a shout-out to Richard (Roger Rabbit) Williams's 1971 animated version of A Christmas Carol, with Alistair Sim reprising the role of Scrooge. It used to be on TV every Christmas when I was a nipper, and I'm pretty sure that it was my first introduction to the story,

Okay, so we now have Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Twas The Night Before Christmas, Frosty The Snowman, and Frosty's Winter Wonderland. I shall add Santa Clause Is Comin' To Town.
Another fun holiday film is A Christmas Wish, starring Jimmy Durante. A Charlie Brown Christmas is also good.
