Spectre video game: will we get one?
What do you guys think the chances are that we'll get a game tie-in for the new film?

Does anyone want one? There hasn't been a truely good Bond game since EON. FRWL wasn't bad as a game, it just butchered one of the best Bond films.

Re: Spectre video game: will we get one?
Qos got a game and its launch bombed, the game was discounted early on.
The other games that tied into Sf as a download might have been ok if it wasn't Craig as the only playable bond.
What was that 007 racing game that bombed. They added Craig to it when they originally cast another Brit actor.
Unless they are doing a back to back filming, I think there will be a push for some sort of game. If it is back to back then they'll save the game for later.

Re: Spectre video game: will we get one?
I think Activision has pretty much killed the market for Bond games. Craig's new style to Bond may work for the films, but not at all for the games. The Call Of Duty influence doesn't help either.
I saw an article a little while back about a company that's going to be making free Bond games for mobile devices. I'm not sure if that's true, but if another company who gets the rights wants to make a proper console Bond game, they will have to work extra hard to give people reasons to buy the Bond games again.

Do you mean 007 Racing?
EDIT
No, I remember, that was Bloodstone. Adam Croadsell was cast as Bond, only to be replaced by you know who.

It (Bloodstone) had decent driving missions, but the on-foot missions were awful.

Re: Spectre video game: will we get one?
They might try and remake the old Connery Spectre movies in one game like 007 Legends. Does Activision even still have the licence anymore?

I think they do, but I have a feeling they aren't going to to use it. It's like EA at the end of thier run, they had the licence, but didn't do anything with it, until Activision stepped in.

EA was developing Casino Royale, which was announced in March 2006. They officially have lost the license in August 2006. Along with this, they were working on a draft to adapt Moonraker to video game. Activision no longer has the license since they have removed their products and ads involving the 007 franchise from the webpages and online stores.Daltonite Toothpaste wrote:Kiwichris wrote:They might try and remake the old Connery Spectre movies in one game like 007 Legends. Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I didn't know that EA were working on adaptions of both CR and MR.

No problem. There are a few development screenshots from the Venice level online.Daltonite Toothpaste wrote:Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I didn't know that EA were working on adaptions of both CR and MR.

How could you even try to make this spectacle in to a game? Would there be missions in which you must find a Mickey Mouse mask to sneak in to a party? Chastise your "brother" for being mean to you? Press the X button to reply to your therapist? Would you get extra points for weeping and brooding?

You nailed it, DirtyBenny. As always, sir, you always shoot the arrow in the head.dirtybenny wrote:How could you even try to make this spectacle in to a game? A soap opera drama with actionless sequences cannot be adapted to video game. So don't expect a Bond game, and to assume correctly, 007 Legends caused the marketting on the Bond franchise a big crash. Don't wait for a new Bond game anytime soon.

You got it Omega! There could be missions to find a new surrogate mommy, take a Psychiatry 101 class and a bonus game where you make Ian Fleming's body spin in his grave!Omega wrote:Maybe the could make it like GTA except you get health points for a good cry
