Well that sucks. At this rate they make movies he'll be Bond until 2030. But its looks like it is just Wilson talking, I think mazer said Craig made $16 million on Skyfall so what he make $30 million a film? He'll never leave because his other movies always bomb.Thunderpussy wrote:http://www.people.co.uk/news/uk-world-n ... -23642989/

JAMES BOND actor Daniel Craig has been offered a multi-million pound deal to become the longest serving 007 of all time.
It would see Craig, 43, star in EIGHT of the spy flicks – one more than Roger Moore, whose seven appearances spanned 12 years.
Legendary Bond producer Michael G Wilson said: “Daniel’s been a terrific Bond, a superb actor and a terrific man. The fans love him and I don’t think there’s a better actor to play the part.”
Chester-born Craig, below, is currently shooting Skyfall, his third Bond film. And in an exclusive interview with The People, Wilson told how he would love him to do five more.
He said: “It’s certainly something we’ll be discussing with him once we finish shooting Skyfall.
“Filming has gone very well so far and I’d love Daniel to surpass Roger’s record and do eight pictures. Daniel’s been an absolute pleasure to be around because he takes the role so seriously. There’s really no one more passionate about making these films work than him – he’s a film maker’s dream.
“A lot of people have said Daniel’s been their favourite Bond since Sean Connery and I can’t argue with them. He’s doing a great job.”
Although Wilson did not reveal financial details, it is thought that any future appearances would each earn Craig more than the £8million he is reportedly being paid for Skyfall.
Casino Royale, his Bond debut movie, took over £300million at the box office to become the most profitable 007 film in history. Wilson, whose stepfather Cubby Broccoli started the film franchise in 1962, said fans were in for a treat with Craig’s appearance in Skyfall – comparing it to the finest work of iconic Bond Connery who made six official Bond films.
Roger Moore and Sean Connery James Bond
The 69-year-old New Yorker said: “The director Sam Mendes and Daniel are taking it back to a 60s feel – more Sean. I think that’s what the fans wanted. There’s a magical Goldfinger feel surrounding it all. It’s all very exciting. I can’t wait for people to see the movie because I think we’re making a very special Bond.”
Wilson has been producer or executive producer on 13 Bond flicks and is now co-producer with his step- sister Barbara Broccoli. Speaking at last Monday’s premiere of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, which stars Craig as journalist Mikael Blomkvist, he said there are big plans to mark the Bond films’ 50th anniversary in 2012.
Several events are set to coincide with Skyfall’s release next winter, including an extravaganza featuring all the actors to have officially played the spy. They are Connery, 81, George Lazenby, 72, Moore, 84, Timothy Dalton, 65, Pierce Brosnan, 58, and Craig.
Wilson said: “We’d really like to get all six together. We’re trying to find a way for fans to celebrate with us because they’ve been the reason the Bond films have been the success they have.”
One plan is to open up Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. Wilson said: “We’re looking at ways to show off sets from the latest film, as well as props and perhaps give movie master classes for film fans.
“At the moment these are just ideas so you’ll have to wait and see. Whatever happens it will be a special year for Bond fans.”

We're already done with Bond. Bond is dead and is now a zombie. If so, I am done with it.
What do you do with a zombie? Contain him and hoping to find a cure for him? No, you shoot him in the head. Otherwise, the virus will spread. This is why Bond 23 must CRASH and BURN, especially here in the US.
I hope you're right 200%.Bond 23 will underperform QOS.

Willy ol lad I have no idea why Wilson said what he did although wildly misconstrued I am glad he said it.
No way Craig or any new actor will ever come close to Moore's record, not in today's Hollywood. Brozza had a chance and the Wonder Twins sank that one. You know it was Connery who first suggested Brozza get Tarantino, oddly when chance meeting finally happened it only showed the brain dean duo how to ditch Bond all together.
Moore had a crappy agent he was wildly underpaid and didn't start to make good money until near the end as opposed to Craig who is overpaid. £16m + the Broccoli graft is crazy, anyway the studio would never agree. They're close to pulling Craig license as it is.

..Well that's just beeping peachy, that dickhead gets to stay around till god knows when and he doesn't deserve it, denny boy is a false bond who's face has been slapped around by a wet fish, do us all a favor craig just leave, take babs with you and take your communist bond and shove it where the sun don't shine .
One thing's for bloody sure even if you're the longest running bond you sure as hell won't ever be remembered as one, we're now in the age where po faced actors who love to do nothing but moan get everything on a plate and can do what they want, bond is dead, long live james bond, what we have now is nothing but a rogue agent, a charmless, humourless, uncaring person who makes victor meldrew look like the happiest person in the world.
Bond is now a walking corpse, a staggering mess, and the only remedy is to put him down (the franchise).

However, I do feel as though Craig will equal Brozza's tenure and do a 4th, assuming Skyfall hits similar numbers to Craig's last 2 films, but a 5th film may be a stretch.

It is not going to be as easy this time. If Skyfall does not make money the contract allows the studio (not MGW or Babs) to terminate. Bottom line is Skyfall has to do better than QOS, a tall order given the cost of the movie (if they are getting a Quark sized budget). The cost of keeping Craig on becomes an issue if they are not seeing a return on their money at the BO. From the outside looking in it crazy to not make money on $500 million BO but it's all too easy. The Sweeney wrote: I agree. No way Craig will ever top Moore's record. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I mentioned this in another thread, but something in my water tells me Skyfall will bring in similar numbers to both CR and QoS, which will lead to another outing by Craig.
I appreciate he will look even older by then, but I think he will do a 4th Bond film. I know this is not what everyone here wants to hear, but that is my gut feeling.
A 5th is a stretch, so I'm taking this comment by Wilson as the usual positive spin comments during production to build up hype. No way on earth will Craig do 8 films, but another film is looking likely, assuming Skyfall hits similar numbers to Craig's other 2 films.

I read somewhere Skfall's budget is far less than QoS, so it should bring in more of a profit this time round, assuming it hits similar numbers.Mazer Rackham wrote:It is not going to be as easy this time. Unless of course the budget has been increased again. Have you heard anything on the grapevine about this...?

That is what I had heard and we all thought until Mikey said it was going to be the same as QOS which is crazy, $400m w/P&R to make $500m gross. It might make sense to Greek government anyone else with a head on their shoulders will think twice about a deal like this. I went on and on about the good common sense a lower budget will bring then MGW went ahead and shot it all to hell. The Sweeney wrote:I read somewhere Skfall's budget is far less than QoS, so it should bring in more of a profit this time round, assuming it hits similar numbers.Mazer Rackham wrote:It is not going to be as easy this time. Skyfall will preform well to a certain degree but will struggle to keep pace with the previous movies unless something serious happens to prime the pump.
