Yay, four bars of the Bond theme and that's all. Now there's something to look forward to.

Invisibility is back in the news
http://news.discovery.com/tech/gear-and ... 140930.htm
The invisible car never made much sense, why would it be necessary to make the car go inviable how often does that need come up? Maybe if you're being chased it'd be useful.
I get why it is ridiculed but I've defended for years because it was cutting edge science it was then and today.

To me he was like "the most interesting man in the world" before there was such a thing.

Funny thing is that is sort of how that technology works but it didn't work very well in the movie IMO. At least not in the hiding in the parking lot sneaking around part. Hiding behind an invisible door is counter intuitive for the audience

Re: Bond News Of The Day Thread
Babs doesn't know how to do Bond movies anyway. It's rather obvious she struggled with Pierce-look the transition TND-TWINE-DAD.TND went too much into action realm and then they wanted more character story for the next movie.Who though that the story would work with another Bond girl or that she's even necessary I don't know and then DAD was like Bond on steroids. So it's far too easier to just copy Batman and Bourne then to make a good Bond movie. I don't know if critics are really buying this crap or they are getting huge paychecks but it's crap either way. Hura for Cleese for saying the truth...ml94 wrote:Kristatos wrote:John Cleese has been slagging off the James Bourne films again: http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/james-b ... ohn-cleese

Re: Bond News Of The Day Thread
Surprising no mention of hijacked nuclear bombs, nor the missing bomber in the Bahamas. Just goes to show you cover-ups are still with us. At least they could've given Vargas an honorable mention, since he doesn't have any hobbies. Speaking of Vargas, Vargas showed much more presence than the Craigster. Yes, I was looking forward to more of John Cleese as Q. As for his comment on Babs increasing the action without regard to Bond's uniqueness (paraphrasing) for the Philippines and Korea (and others have mentioned China and other countries). Babs is simply copying the latest trend; 'uniquely Bond' factor would still play well in Asian and other venues. There are audiences 'over there' for the strictly action film as well as the action film with some depth. Some of the most popular films in Asia are high quality films, not just shoot-em-ups.Kristatos wrote:Vulcan bomber farewell tour. Posted for the Thunderball connection.
