Colin Salmon
Do you think Colin Salmon was ever seriously considered for the Bond role?
He was often used to test actresses for roles, and was reputedly very good as Bond.
Could he have been a missed Bond oppurtunity? Would there be an up-roar over a black James Bond?
To be honest I think yes there would be. But it wouldn't be the color of his skin that put me off. More that he's already played Robinson in three of the Brosnan films.

I don't think he was seriously considered. He claims to have been in the running for Casino Royale but he was 44, a wooden actor and didn't have any hair. Also, how jarring would it be for Robinson to suddenly be Bond! That would be much weirder than Dench remaining as M post-Brozzer.

Poor Colin unceremoniously dumped from a role nobody knew he was up for.
When I think of an actor's disappointment, I think of those poor lads (who were being looked at and undergoing extra training for the role) shocked as the rest of us when they read the headline about Daniel being anointed for role.
However one could make an argument about Daniel shattering what had been the acceptable standard for James; thus paving the was for anybody from Ringo Star & puff Daddy to Angelina Jolie to star in the role some day.

Colin or Craig
Lots of negative posts here about Colin. If I were to pick the Bond after Brosnan, and there were 2 actors left, DC and Colin, Colin would be my pick. He's tall, (A BIG PLUS) dark and handsome, everything DC is not. A commanding figure. Brosnan thought he was right for the part. He is suave. Look at his other roles. Craig is little, awful close to ugly, wooden, and a "character actor". Colin could be James Bond re-invented, Dr No all over. Colin or Craig? You tell me.

Craig would win. Easily.
I'm not ready for a coloured Bond. And as fine as I was with his role as Robinson I don't think he could carry an entire film. And he is himself wooden.
As for the height thing.
You can tell the distance between here...

Disagree with you there I'm afraid carl.carl stromberg wrote:A Colin Salmon Bond would at least be watchable for me!
This guy......has made an excellent debut as Bond, and is quite capable of making watchable Bond films like the previous five did.
Salmon is too wooden and more of a supporting actor for me.
