Pffft.. That fits in with their absurdity of foisting Craggy as the Second-coming of Sean Connery: by adjusting their villains to parallel The Originals. Like making the first two "connected" with a single nefarious criminal organization behind the plots (DN/FRWL naming SPECTRE without trouble since the TB case wasn't settled in Kevin McClory's favor until after both movies were completed; CR just saying the "organization" followed by QoS's fruity "Quantum" because EON still didn't have the rights), then having an unrelated standalone villain for the third (GF himself and SF's whackjob Silva), followed by the return of said organization in the Fourth (TB and SF - The Sequel).

Now that EON has the rights to Blofeld/SPECTRE for real, they'll want to strike while the iron's hot. But not so fast they'll actually resume the swift and efficient "production-line" ethos of making their films every 2 years, dragging it out to 3-4 because it's soooo important to cultivate such a "serious" work of "Art". So count on Craggy The Fourth to not only resume the fruity Quantum saga, but officially re-christen them as SPECTRE to get down with kickin' it Old-School, only "updated" and "improved" for this "New Age" of being all "hardcore" and "realistic", yo. And then top it off with the Fifth fully featuring New-Blofeld as the Ultimate Enemy for the Craggy to confront and destroy as their Grand Finale, thus sticking it to YOLT for only giving Donald Pleasence a walk-on & quick getaway without Connery laying a finger on him. Amirite?

I suppose it could make a satirical comment on organizations that change their names following some PR disaster ("our focus group selected Quantum as being a bit less world dominationy than SPECTRE").

Prince could even sing the theme song to "Who The Hell Cares" :!: I would love to see Broccoli's face floating by in the background during the song sequence.......... In denial, there is always truth....uh oh...."Logan also issued a "no comment" to suggestions that iconic 007 villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld or other 00 agents will make an appearance in the next spy outing"............perhaps Logan will recreate a new villain combining "Blofeld's and Oddjob's" names into one glorious amalgam, if you get where I am going with this........move over Pussy Galore.......move over Holly Goodhead......a new villain's name could be the sexual innuendo of the 21st century :!:

i would make more sense. I'm waiting for the female Blofeld rumor to make a come back. If they revisit Quantum (bad name focused grouped in the 90's) I hope for the sake if the series it's not a rehash of Blofeld. If the reboot again sometime then ok maybe then they should use it. I know every one loves those stories but I thought bond had some good villains when they had to be original.

My main objection to Blofeld coming back is the continuity headaches it will cause, thanks to the reboot. Have they met before? Is Blofeld just a supervillain or the guy who killed Bond's wife? Although to be fair, Tracy was barely mentioned in DAF either, just some vague references to Bond "making it personal".

Anyhow they use the most obvious clichéd modern gritty take on Blofeld.

All I remember about them is that the leaders had colours for names, a henchman was called Elvis and there was a plot involving water. They weren't really the best of villains.

Hannibal scored a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating, down 27 percent from a 1.1 for last week's premiere........Renee Zellweger is in talks to star opposite Daniel Craig in indie courtroom thriller “The Whole Truth.” Unfortunately there are still no plot details that have been released about the movie, other than that Craig will be playing a lawyer. Frozen River director Courtney Hunt is directing from a script by Nicholas Kazan. Richard Suckle will be producing with FilmNation handling foreign rights. It’s not clear when it might shoot, although it’s believed Craig is hoping to get it in the can before he starts shooting Bond 24, which is due to begin filming in the autumn.

Just been slightly busy over the past year or so.

I'd never do that. I remember being filled with doubt as I went to see Skyfall at the cinema. I left thinking that it was OK at best, mainly because of historical bits that forced it to remember that it was a Bond film. I remember being confused at the "Bond is now rubbish because he's old!! Even though two films earlier we rebooted the whole franchise to make him young again!!" thing. That just seemed a bit weird.

Also, thought Skyfall 50th references (and come to think of it the QOS Oilfinger scene) made the whole reboot pointless. If you are going to say the last 17 films never happened, at least be consistent with it. Come to think of it, maybe this is their way of saying sorry for the reboot.

I had problems with Bond having a relationship with a former sex slave. In my mind, that's taking advantage of the vulnerable. That's not heroic. But I'll put that down to his drinking and drug problem, that we never really see.

To be fair, I though the Shanghai shots were nicely done. It was good to see Judi Dench having a bigger role (one of the reasons why I like TWINE) and you can never go wrong with Tennyson.

300 rise opened pretty good for this time of year I guess. The kids movie (spell check screws it up) opens decent as well.

as c3po would say thank the maker Robocop abomination didn't make the top ten but it did $220 million worldwide seeing as it costs as much as it does I don't think it will make money.

Hobbit 3 is $70 million shy of a billion, I think it was a mistake to milk the audience so openly, we all know they broke it up to make another billion with the third. That and we all know there will be extended editions coming.

I think you meant 2, not 3. I wonder if WB is going to do anything that would push 2 to $1 billion.
