Re: new bond
Oops, type of error message. the 'quote' above, attributed to the honourable Omega, was from yours truly. Addendumb: I didn't realize that Radcliffe was so tiny, having not seen him in newer films, and assuming he would 'age upwards' from his Harry Potter days.
Re: new bond
I've seen a few of his movies that are darker. Maybe. If he really has the acting chops he could pull it off. His handicap would be people holding the image of him as potter in their minds. The public is less prone to type-casting nowadays. If Radcliffe was six feet, he would certainly be a better ...

Re: The End of the World
I was thinking the same thing, although maybe it could have an adequate budget. On tangent, I've always wondered why Indiana Jones never searched for Noah's Ark. You could see all the bad guys trying to take Indy out; and if the Ark was found, the baddies would want to destroy it. But of course, as ...

Broccoli wants Cr-egg to do the most Bond films and pass Moore's total most likely. He might stay on another 12 years until he is 60. If that's the case God help us all. Well, he looks well over 60 now. So when he is really 60 he'll look 120; they can get Gandalf to play his twin brother. :cake:

Re: Dirty Benny's Weekly Rant
It's the same trap the producers fell in, trying to swim in the sea of PC popular culture. The people they are trying to please never liked bond and are eager to see the series pervert itself out of a sense of revenge for its past decadence. I don't blame brosnan for saying what he says now, I just...

The End of the World
Well, for this Christmas season, my thoughts have turned to cheerful topics like genetic meltdown of the human race! Blofeld and friends would have a field day with this one, not to mention Bond's brother, Ernie. I came across geneticists who have made public what has been an 'open secret' until a f...

Re: Dirty Benny's Weekly Rant
To be fair, I've seen only two non-Bonds that Craig has made. One based on a true story, about brother rebels being guerillas against (I think) the Russians. He did a plausible job, but not 'charismatic' IMO; in fact, I didn't even finish the film. The other was a thriller where he played a nicer gu...

http://www.google.com/images/hpp/Parachute-42x42-color.gif Anthony Horowitz has revealed he will be writing a new James Bond book with a "killer" first line. Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Horowitz said the opening line was the "only reason" he wanted to write the novel, which is expected to be rele...

Re: Dirty Benny's Weekly Rant
May be mistaken, but I think Brosnan was one of the few, or maybe even the only, Bond actor to say he read the novels. Does this mean he read them all? I always thought he was a Bond fan, which brings an added smile. The 'others' were only playing a part, but Brosnan was playing a part, partly as a ...

Oh, come on, it's OK to be tasteless here. Just imagine we're in a bus with Donald Trump. But half-seriously, what is tasteless for some is tasteful for another (it sounds better in Latin). Anyway, few, if any, will condemn you here (he said with a wink)

Trump is better looking than Craig (you saw that coming, I know). Of course, Hillary is better looking than Craig.

Trump traveled under my radar, haven't looked into him. Can it be true that he really is not part of the 'elite'? That would be historic.bjmdds wrote:I think he will try to be a great one but we shall see. There is NO outside money pulling his strings.

I'll wager that Trump will be at least a far more entertaining president than boring Secretary Clinton. Even if he pushes the red button, at least he'll make us laugh.

Re: Is Bond a Litterbug?
The rain spattered obliquely, like an unseemly bad joke, on the nondescript building, sitting crab-like over Regents Park. Behind the green baize desk sat a man with grim, damnably clear eyes, smoking a rare black cheroot. He studied the man pacing back and forth, a man rather dreaded by operatives ...

Re: The Last Movie You Watched
Dr. Strange is a fun watch. Cumberland nails the title character in acting and a great plus plus in actually resembling the physical look of the comix. It would really be strange if Babs had been in charge. (sorry for that aside, couldn't help it)

Re: Dirty Benny's Weekly Rant
I Startpaged "James Bond gets his head drilled" and found discussions on that infamous scene. Some actually consider it serious filmmaking..."Well, one can suppose he could have survived" sort of thing. As usual, being late to the party, must agree with Blowfeld above on the Babz. Unfortunately, som...

Imagine if a movie could combine the spectacle of You Only Live Twice the movie with the personal conflict of the Twice novel. That's basically what Captain America: Civil War does. https://hmssweblog.wordpress.com/2016/05/05/civil-war-is-like-you-only-live-twice-the-book-and-film/ Just this week w...
